One of my favourite series is The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel series by Michael Scott. It's about 2 15 year-old twins, Sophie and Josh Newman. Here's some info about them.

Hair (as I imagine): Dark dirty blond, hardly noticeable irregular blonde flecks

If you haven't read the books, you'll be wondering what an 'aura' is. So here's the first sentence of what Wikipedia had to say about them.
"In parapsychology and many forms of spiritual practice, an aura is a field of subtle, luminous radiation supposedly surrounding a person or object (like the halo or aureola in religious art)."
Here's my definition:
An aura is the field of coloured energy surrounding a person. The purest and rarest auras are silver and gold. Most normal human's auras are a blend of different colours. If one is "Awakened"(awakening the aura) and trained properly, they can use their aura to create fire, tornadoes, rivers, armor, and other things. An aura often has a particular smell as well. This smell is only strong enough to smell when it is being used or is otherwise in contact with magic (no, it won't start to smell if you watch a magic trick).
This is a great book series for kids age 10 and up. I loved the aura concept and it really intrigues me Check it out for yourself!
